Welcome to the BN Archive CONTRIBUTIONS page!
This page is the most important page (to me) on this site.
I can only take so many pictures myself. You have probably noticed
that many of the pictures on this site were taken by someone other
than me, Charles Biel. Right now most of those slides by others are
slides I have purchased at Texas area train shows.
For this site to thrive, I need as many pictures as I can get. The
internet is an excellent way for people all over the world to
exchange information such as railroad photos. I have spent a
substantial amount of time and money on this project in hopes that
others will spend a little to help me out, sort of as a token of
their appreciation I guess.
It seems that most people that enjoy looking at railroad pictures
have probably taken a few themselves. I am hoping that there are
a few generous people out there with a few photos they would like
to contribute to the archive.
To keep consistent image quality on this site (railfans do appreciate
quality much more that the average Joe it seems, myself included) I
can only accept 35mm color slides or negatives at this time. If you
have any 35mm slides or negatives you would like to contribute please
e-mail me at cbiel@sbcglobal.net
or send snail mail to:

It will take me about 5 to 8 weeks to return your slides/negatives since I
will be putting the images on PhotoCD, which
takes a couple weeks at an affordable lab.
I realize that some of you would like to contribute, but are afraid that
something may happen to those precious originals (I understand completely).
The best alternative to sending slides or negatives is having you put the
images onto PhotoCD (you should be able to get
it done for less than $1 per image). Get me a rough estimate of the cost
and shipping, and I will send you a money order to pay for it, as long as
it is a reasonable amount.
In either case, please try to send information regarding the photographer
and the date and location of the photo. This information isn't necessary,
but is definitely nice to know.
Lastly, I would like to thank those who have contributed so far. Special
thanks goes to my first contributor,
Chris Rich. He doesn't really know it, but it was his willingness to
contribute that got me excited enough to take to this project as ambitiously
as I have.
Again, if you have something to contribute, or questions about contibuting,
please send me e-mail at cbiel@sbcglobal.net
or snail mail at:
