Here are five more photos from new contributor John Jacobs. I mentioned before that John sent an interesting mix, and for those of you into the 20 cylinder 45 series EMD's, today is your lucky day. I have done pretty well to get photos of 29 of 46 F45's, and today we add a 30th with John's photo of F45 #6626. Then John really outdoes himself with not one, but two rare SDP45's including SDP45 #6599 while it was sporting the experimental four axle rear truck that I believed helped EMD design the self steering trucks used on the 70 series locomotives. And of course, there are a couple good old SD45's in there as well. While the SD45 is not particularly rare, I do have fewer photos of this model than I would expect for what was such a popular locomotive among railfans at the time. Enjoy, Charles |
