Hi everyone, Here are more slides from new contributor, Bill Weibel. I'm still not yet halfway through the nearly 400 BN slides Bill sent for me to pick through (320 of which I scanned). It will take the rest of this month and then some to post them all. Most of the slides in this collection are from the early eighties, so there are several shots of units no longer on the roster, and several ex-Frisco units still in Frisco colors but with BN lettering and number. If ever there was a before and after rebuild day, today is it. Today we have not one, not two, but five sets of before and after rebuild shots to compare. All are Morrison-Knutsen GP40M rebuilds of EMD GP40's. In a few cases, I have more than one shot of either or both locomotives! They are first, GP40 #3022 (before) / GP40M #3517 (after); second, GP40 #3030 (before) / GP40M #3508 (after); third, GP40 #3032 (before - 2 shots) / GP40M #3513 (after); fourth, GP40 #3035 (before - 2 shots) / GP40M #3521 (after - 2 shots); and finally, the fifth is GP40 #3037 (before - 2 shots) / GP40M #3522 (after). |
