Hi everyone,
Contributor Rick Briney sent just the right amount of EMD GP40's and EMD GP40-2's for me to devote a day to these. All four of these GP40's were rebuilt to GP40E's or GP40M's, while the lone GP40-2 was retired. I believe the deal with the GP40-2's was a lease originally owned by the KCS and transferred to the SLSF and inherited by the BN. When the lease expired, the units went back to KCS. Looks like I should devote a little time to enhancing the GP40, GP40E, and GP40M pages with a few more cross-links as I have done with other pages like the EMD GP30's GP39E's. Looks like even that GP39E page could be improved with a note on whether the unit was originally a GP30 or GP35. Enjoy, Charles |
