Message of the day - March 17, 1999:

Hi everyone,

I wasn't planning to post two days in a row, but I have a little more free time than usual this being Spring Break. One day that usually occurs during Spring Break is St. Patrick's Day, and a symbol of the holiday is green. I was reminded of that when I got to work today, so I thought it would be a neat idea to post some BN pics before I go out and hit a party or two.

Amazingly, there is not much difference to point out among today's SD40-2's. All happen to be the old cascade green scheme with diagonal nose striping, and all but one are of the later production phases with the vertical radiator grilles vs. earlier waffle-style grilles. One oddball in the lot is an odball only because of the shot angle. It is not often you find a unit with it's rear end uncoupled in good light like in this shot of get BN #7135
