Message of the day - March 2, 2000:

Hi everyone,

Today we achieve balance of the builders, with five GE's and five EMD's from contributor Chris Stewart. All five EMD's are SD40-2's and all five of the GE's began as C30-7's, but two have been modified and redesignated as C33-7's, and are rated at 3300 horsepower instead of 3000 which is the standard for a C30-7. One of the shots from Chris is paricularly interesting. It is the third shot I have of C33-7 #5047 shows it as a whiteface, complete with white separator stripe, while earlier shots show it in standard cascade green before and after being converted to a C30-7. The only external difference I know of that identifies BN C33-7's (and C36-7's) is the red numberboards and the model name stenciled on the frame sill.

Enjoy,
Charles
