Hi everyone,
I have an idea that back in the day, some photographers might have got a little bored with all the SD40-2's running around on the BN. It appears that Roger Bee found these all interesting enough to spend some Kodachrome on them, and of course I'm glad to have them all. In the case of units I had prior photos of, I see that a couple horns have moved around. Most interesting though is the last two, which happen to be among the first of a small batch made in Canada where the paint diagrams must have lost a little something in translation since the frame sills got painted black instead of green. Obviously it wasn't so major a flaw to justify repainting, but it was noticed soon enough that only a handful including 8076 and 8077 made it out of the shop like this. Enjoy, Charles |
