Here are five more photos from new contributor John Jacobs. I tend to save the best for last, but I just could not stand to wait any longer for this batch. There is just something particularly special about lashups with B units, and three of today's five photos feature some kind of A-B combo. As if B30-7 #5490 is not a rare enough catch by itself, John managed to get it coupled to an even more rare SD40-2B. Odd A-B combo of the day is SW10 #378 coupled to a B30-7A. But the one that really turns my crank is the classic. It does not get any more "proper" than a matched A-B set of F units, and they do not get any classier or more rare than the BN executive units, BN-1 and BN-2. And of course, John catches them on my favorite kind of train, an intermodal. It just does not get much better than this! Enjoy, Charles |
