Hi everyone, While the subject remains the usual, I have a few unusual things to point out regarding today's photos. First off, all five are units I did not have photos of before. That does not happen often any more for contemporary BN subjects. I guess I am missing quite a few in the 7200's. I believe the 7200's spent most of there time working in the land of BN fuel tenders, more commonly referred to as the Powder River Basin. I first visited the PRB in 1999, and I have visited the area two more times since then, in 2000 and 2002. During my 2002 visit I noted that the 7200's appear to have been displaced by 9200 class SD60M's, which explains why I have recently caught some 7200's in Texas and Oklahoma. If you like those BN fuel tenders, three are visible in two of today's photos. Most interesting to me is the photo of SD40-2 #7210. There are no signs of BNSFization (sublettering, relocation of headlight) ... or are there? I would be interested to know when BN 7210 managed to score that air conditioner perched on top of its cab. Not your typical BN SD40-2! Enjoy, Charles |
