Hi everyone, I did not really plan this, but two of today's photos just happen to be from this date two years ago, when I was 1000 miles from home in Texas visiting relatives in Minnesota. For several of the units posted today, I also have photos of from several years ago, so I once again have an opportunity to point out some differences that may be of interest to BN modelers of certain eras. BN SD40-2 #7037 did not change much between the September 1999 and August 2000 photos but the April 1994 photo shows a minor change - at this time the unit had flashing strobes on the anticlimber instead of the ditch lights common in the late 1990's. In the case of BN SD40-2 #7070, the photos from July 1994 and March 2000 show before and after ditch lights. BN SD40-2 #7071 also picked up ditch lights between April 1986 and August 2000. This unit also lost its rotary beacon and had the horn relocated at some time between the two photos. Enjoy, Charles |
