Today's batch of five photos from contributor Rick Briney is all EMD GP20's, including three of the elusive high short hood ex-GN units. As luck would have it, I do not have many of these, and yet two of the three are units I had previous photos of, but in both cases, the angles are from the opposite end. In the case of GP20 #2024 we have an interesting case of before and after where today's photo shows the long hood with stripes to complement an earlier photos that shows the long hood without stipes. Since the long end was considered the front on these units the front not having stripes is a bit of an oddity. Should you have any doubts about which end is the front, note the letter "F" on the frame sill near the steps. Enjoy, Charles |
