Message of the day - January 8, 2000:Hi everyone,So much for the same old same old. Here is what all those people who have e-mailed me about Santa Fe over the past few years have been waiting for. I'm expanding the Santa Fe site to include more than just "Super Fleet" motive power. My main motivation to do this is to add some historical depth to the BNSF site, as much of the ex-Santa Fe power on the rails looks just as it did before the merger. While my Burlington Northern site goes all the way back to 1970, my interest in Santa Fe is modern, pretty much from the failed SPSF merger to the present, so that is what this site will cover for the time being. If earlier material (i.e. color slides) falls in my lap, I will consider using it, in fact some early shots of units surviving to the BNSF merger would be greatly appreciated. I don't plan to go out of my way to find such material though. That said, I hope you enjoy the additions as I post them over the coming months and years. My thanks to those who have helped me with this so far (especially Mark Lynn, Mike Bledsoe, and Moss Hulsey) as well as those who will help me in the future. Enjoy! Charles |
